I am indeed glad to note that the College of Dental Science and Hospital has reached yet another milestone in its journey of over two decades, by establishing a dental institution, with a mission to develop quality dental care professionals and to provide best dental care services to the rural as well as urban masses. At the onset, I would like to share a small story about how the concept of beginning a hospital and College came in my mind. Once I was attending a religious function, during which the priest gave a sermon ‘How to be Happy”. The story goes like this. “There was an anthropologist who had been studying the habits and culture of a remote African tribe. He had been working in the village for quite some time and the day before he was to return home, he put together a gift basket filled with delicious fruits from around the region and wrapped it in a ribbon. He placed the basket under a tree and then he gathered up the children in the village.
The man drew a line in the dirt, looked at the children, and said, “When I tell you to start, run to the tree and whoever gets there first will win the basket of the fruit.” When he told them to run, they all took each other’s hands and ran together to the tree. Then they sat together around the basket and enjoyed their treat as a group. The anthropologist was shocked. He asked why they would all go together when one of them could have won all the fruits for themselves?
A young girl looked up at him and said, “How can one of us be happy if all the other ones are sad?” This was the day when I decided to pay back our social debts to our people and nation with a vision, which can keep me happy and would be helpful for the betterment of society. And thus, The Vajdi Educational Society established this institution named College of Dental Science and Hospital that imparts quality dental education. We offer a unique training environment of the highest caliber. Our students get an overall experience that makes them doctors of high quality, disciplined and integrity.
It is a matter of great pride that College of Dental Science and Hospital is the first Private Dental College and Hospital of Madhya Pradesh, we are celebrating the historic milestone of twenty years of its eventful existence. Long years of dedicated service and continuous efforts of the Doctors and Staff of the institution has made a name of itself for undertaking quality dental education to students and reasonable, comprehensive, dental health care facilities to the general public. Presently College of Dental Science and Hospital is a sixty seater BDS institution, up-gradation to hundred seaters is in progress.
Our aim is to develop competent and compassionate dentist of the future spanning the entirety of general dentistry and its subspecialties. Further, we believe that the program of up-gradation of the institution to 100 seaters elevates our training environment to a new level, exposing our trainees to the full portfolio of opportunities across our academic dentistry system. I not only hope but also believe that the ambitious and zealous students, committed to go-ahead in the field of dentistry will make the best choice and select our institute to fulfill their dream come true.
